HQ.dev

Hi, I'm HQ Developer.

Indie software engineer — backend, infrastructure & self-hosting.

I build small, durable systems and run most of them myself. My day-to-day is backend services, reverse proxies, Linux networking, and squeezing more out of modest hardware. I like boring technology that stays up, observable systems, and documentation I'll actually read again in a year.

I mostly work solo or in small teams, shipping APIs and the plumbing around them — deployment pipelines, monitoring, backups, and the occasional weekend graphics experiment when I need a break from YAML.

What I'm into right now

Lately it's been high-concurrency reverse proxies, congestion control on long-haul links, and keeping a self-hosted stack tidy without turning it into a full-time job. A few of those notes ended up on the blog.
